  no.. it's just like taking my leave..
  
  being on shift means that apart from my usual annual leave, i have an additional 11 days from the public holidays as "time-off in lieu of public holiday" whether i am actually on duty or not..
  
  i can claim them immediately after the public holiday has passed...
  
  tonight's day off is claimed for Deepavali
