den i say we're basically just human beings..we r not GOD...we do make mistake..Originally posted by the Bear:my personal philosophy to this:
we are human. we make choices. that separates us from animals. instinct and need for instant gratification? or a self-conscious choice to do the right thing?
what makes us human?

well i said b4, one would be an idiot to make the same mistake twice..but look, there're so many idiots ard still..Originally posted by skinnybeanie:right, we all make mistakes, but one should make a point to learn from the mistake and not commit it again
i can only say this..if u r prepared to do it, be prepared to face the music...Originally posted by the Bear:i know we make mistakes, but when we do, do we continue the mistake, or do we make a conscious effort to right it?
i have heard too many people use the "I'm only human" as an excuse... and i've tread on too many toes telling them "well, behave like a human and do the right thing since you already know what to do!"
just like the "mistakes" made by some people, it's their own problem if the do not affect those around, but if they continue to pursue what they know is wrong, then, it's not a mistake anymore, is it?
then, their very humanity is in question...
i did say my set of principles for myself was harsh...

it doesn't matter if the whole whole is full of idiots, it's about yourself.Originally posted by Inzaghi:well i said b4, one would be an idiot to make the same mistake twice..but look, there're so many idiots ard still..
yap, tat's y when going overseas, better is to bring over the happy family photo..at least to remind u not to anythign stupid..Originally posted by the Bear:yah... that's personal responsibility...
however, in this case, how many around them are also affected?
no one has the right to make decisions for someone else... at least that's what i feel.. however, if they don't want to take the consequences of their actions and whine, then it's kid gloves off
some pple think they are prepared, but sometimes, reality catch them by surprise..Originally posted by Inzaghi:i can only say this..if u r prepared to do it, be prepared to face the music...

a very cool piece of theology there bear: that we are not in the same league as animals..........and so that explains beanie's view that there is are absolutes: it is predefined and it does not change, cannot be compromised.....an absolute. and inzaghi reflect the vast majority in the world today where there is no absolutes. sure there are rules in society but all is relative. if you can keep to it that's great but its OK to break it if you need to.....don't hurt others yes but if you need to, you need to........ultimately you are your own boss that define what is right and wrong- for you! each has their own standards, but for mankind as a whole: there are no absolutes! lots of diverse thoughts and opinions, but in essence, the underlying principles reveal itselfOriginally posted by the Bear:my personal philosophy to this:
