Hi people here, my neighbour has an aunt and her aunt has a roomate, who is earning big $ on internet publishing at home. Anyone interested, please write to [email protected]. Thank you.

When u say afterlife, u r referring to reincarnation rite? Cos I dun tink u consider nirvana as afterlife?

He means tat he believes in personal evidence. Someone like tat would require tat personal divine touch from God to "convince" him.

Yeap....that's right ! We shall be reincarnated for many times until we reached nirvana...

that "he" refers to me right? well i tink that kinda true... cos i have ppl around me who is so crazily into afterlife that it turns me off and i have no ways to convince them at all.
and oh well... i've got nothing against christians... those crazy ppl i mentioned are not christians in the first place. but im jus not quite accepting this whole concept of afterlife overall.

But since you believe that the universe is eternal, then how come with all that infinite time we all have not all attained nirvana yet?

What do you wish to convince them of? That there is no afterlife at all?
to focus more on current life rather than afterlife.

But since current life is short compared to afterlife, why do you think we should not put more weightage on more eternal things?
Cos current life is proven since we r living it but afterlife isn't proven at all? Is tat ur answer, destiny? Correct me if I am wrong.
becos we are living in our current life while we are not even sure if there is a afterlife. yes despodent u are right. Assuming there's no afterlife, and we focus so much on that, wont we have led our lives in vain? Well... thats assuming there's no afterlife while if there is... then im wrong then =)

if we do not know about afterlife, how would we know that current life is shorter than afterlife?

But again why do you say we do not know? Knowledge about tbe afterlife can only come from anyone who is in a position to tell. I believe Jesus fits the bill.
this is a difference in beliefs... u believe that jesus fits the bill while i do not. someone in position to tell is probably some1 who is already dead and to me dead cant talk. Yeap u believe in jesus dead and resurrected but no i do not. thats why im not really into such things as afterlife. So to me, no one fits the bill and so im always quite against afterlife.

There are very good reasons to believe the resurrection was a real event though. So Jesus is still the best authority on life after death.
are there archaeologcial(apologies for misspelling) evidences to prove the resurrection is a real event? i mean if there isn't then it'll be difficult to prove something that happened thousands of years ago.

Some of us delay our nirvana just to come into this world again to teach and help others to attain true happiness and nirvana too....
i believe nirvana is not attained based on time right? it is based on enlightenment if im not wrong... so even if we got eon of time.. but if we are not enlightened, we would not achieve nirvana and exactly wad it means by enlightened, then im not sure about it =D

When one talks about proving whether an event in history happened one is talking about legal-historical evidence, not empirical evidence. There is no way to prove that the resurrection happened. Even if they find an empty tomb believed to be that of Jesus, you can still say it does not prove the resurrection happened. Empty tombs are not proofs of resurrections. So I think one way is to ask ourselves, given what we know about the testimonies and what happened to the apostles, and the beginnings of the early church, which best explains all these? That the resurrection happened or that it did not happen? To then say that the resurrection did not happen, the critics must then offer an explanation that even better explains all that.

I think you have missed the point I was making. Had Buddhist been delaying attaining nirvana for eternity?

Here's the thing, if something has not been going on forever, then it is logical to say that something has not yet arrived or happened. Because the universe has a beginning, we can arrive at today. But if the universe does not have a beginning, then you could not have arrived at the present, because you can always count one more day, mone more month, or one more year back into the infinite past. You cannot have arrived at today if the universe is eternal. Also if given eternity past one still cannot attain nirvana, then what hope is there really? But if someone can attain nirvana, then it means the idea of an eternal universe is wrong. Think about it.
