If you are somehow related to the criminals you ought not sleep well for you had not done your part to help the criminals from committing the crime. If you were there witnessing the crime, you ought to be ashamed of yourself if you had not done your part to stop the crime.Your sleepless nights wont save the world, pride and self righteousness often blind the conscience. time to wake up!!!!
true true, people who claim to do good or pray to god are often the ones without conscience
Originally posted by laurence82:i am amazed at people who pray to god and got no conscience
It is not what whether they pray or not, it is what they pray.
Judging others conscience is a self righteous act.

I think it only applicable to christian pple.
For non christian pple, they definately wont agreed with you.
So do I.
I just wonder what is the meaning of 'we are borned sinners', who are the 'we'? You mean 'we' are the 'we' that live in the earth?

I was waiting for bingqibu to reply. Unfortunately.....
You sound sincere in your question. To us Christian, all men (and women) are creation of God, and it is the wish of God that the created are ultimately reunited with Him in eternity. What separate us from God is sin. It is our belief that we are born with the root of sin, away from God, e.g. human are more prone to do bad things than good.
To be reunited with God, man's effort to do good would be in vain because of our sinful nature. In God's love, Jesus made the sacrifice on the cross to make atonement for our sin, so that we can be reunited with God. That is our belief.
Of course, non Christian would not agree with us, for if they believe, they would be Christians.
To believe in God, and accepting Jesus is an individual choice.

God is also sinned, he admitted in the bible that he had done evil to humans and he repented.
32:14 "And the Lord repented of the evil which he though to do unto his people."..................

I like the way you said or phrase out especially the last sentences.
Unlike others, they seem to be stone head.
Thanks for your information.

No, God committed the evil when he is a God. He repented and remained as God. It is not he repented and becomes God, it is different.

Read any book and take a sentence out of a whole passage and interpret it independently, you are likely to be completely out of context.
Vs 9 and 10 says that, “LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people. Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them”.
Then Moses spoke for the people “And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.”
In simple English, as in the NIV version, “Lord said to Moses that your people…have corrupted themselves, …. My wrath may burn hot against them and that I may destroy them”. Then Moses spoke for the people “then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.”
What was to be done to the people was an intended punishment to the people for worshiping calf made of gold, it was not with ill intention to inflict harm to the people for other reasons. Locking up a people is an evil deed of depriving a person of his freedom, but putting a criminal in jail is a punishment.
You may still hold on to the idea that what God was about to do to his people, by bringing disaster to them, by destroying them, as something evil, as the word in the KJV implies, but read carefully, did God do what he threatened and then he repented? The answer is NO.
I will not go further in giving you any explanation.
I take it that you were misled by the wordings in the KJV, you are now corrected.

If the bible stories are real, God had sent flood to mankind or how the Noah's Ark comes about ?

Yes, what was recorded in the Bible were true. God did send flood to wipe out the whole mankind at that time, only Noah and his family were saved.

God is violent sia. if we teach our children violence is not the way to end it, then what does this signify when god sent a flood to wipe out mankind? full of paradoxes as usual.
One can spread one's ''worldly'' riches more and more and
more, one can spread one's empire of political
domination, another can (and may) spread one's religious empire - but it is all the same! The desire is to manipulate, to dominate more and more people. Is not this politics behind the cloak of religiosity? One who understands is conscious has no need for a power trip! Beware the pious egoism.
