I dont think the universe is everlasting though.
I am not sure about an older universe. Scientists are also not sure.
Do you know?
its impossible to have the beginning, how it all started. there might be a beginning before the beginning, and before the before beginning. at least the theories are much better explained than the creationist, with a simple minded theory of a creator aka a supermatural divine being, whatever, whose existence is debatable.

And there's no proof of Karma also...meaning you have no consequences how you live your life meh? Do you believe in Karma even you have not experienced it? that is why extremism and fundamentalism are dangerous in this world. they have no concept whatsoever, think they will be a matyrl when they die and go to heaven to enjoy eternal life forever. this is a dangerous mindset

Jacky Woo, can you please explain what is meant by a beginning before THE beginning??? Let's see if you can reasonably explain it. Perhaps your ability to reason is debatable.
if u say God created everything, then the next qn is who created God? tats wad he meant by a beginning before the beginning...so its endless...

DUN ASS U ME.
anyway you are just like him, replying what you wish to reply on.
really? i will let winsomea n tcmc reply u abt me then...if they agree then i have nth to say...

I don't think he meant that though, since he is a godless person, I mean, he says there is no Creator God.
Anyway, to ask who created God is to beg the question and ASSUME that God is also a created "thing". The atheist then needs to justify that assumption.
I do have a reasoning why the qn who created God is flawed BUT it definitely wun go down well wif the atheists and i must admit tat to the qn is flawed only when certain premises abt God is set...

I can imagine winsomeea beginning to change his mind about you if he sees that both of us have more views in common!

You are trying to sow discord, I don't remember the bible teaching to be so!
It is easy to tell when one argues or whatever is it for personal selfish victory or glorifying God.

I did ask the question on behalf of one non christian. I was told that if we keep questioning there will be no end and God is still God. If there is going to be an answer, then there will be another question on who created this and so forth , no end to it.
yup...but tats nt how i will answer it...tat only tells ppl nt to qn...my reasoning, at least to me and some ppl i noe, tells u why the qn itself is flawed...
I don't know about your views on it. but I personally take that for an answer.

Me sowing discord? Not anymore than you are by praising despondent and lumping the rest of us as carnal Christians and what not. And in case you think I am jealous and pining for your approval, please perish the thought. I have nothing against despondent at all and I don't care for your approval either. This is just to set the record straight.
gd for u but nt everyone will take tat as an answer...i derived my reasoning thru comparison btw God and the things on earth...

Damn you, carnal i used as a general term. You are so quarrelsome, you are getting no where and I see you are without good motive to glorify God. If you don't care for approval, just no need to bother about me, no need to post to tell me.
Tsk tsk tsk! God knows what is your motive.
You are solely here for personal selfish victory at the expense of God.

a two edged sword. those who believe in judgement day will want to do good to please God and escape judgement. those who believe life ends when they die believe there is no consequence to whatever they do, good or bad, and that is a dangerous mindset.

Exactly,
And I thought BIC always say "everything and everyone has been created".
Then when I ask BIC, "Who created god?", he says "god dont need to be created!"
This is a argument fallacy callled "special pleading".

sgdiehard,
Open up your mind though.
It depends on which God you are talking about.
Different Gods have different method of judging.
:)
So everybody here agree that religions are man-made ?

Sure.
You keep showing me creationise websites and insisting you believe the earth is 6000 years old, but then when I ask you if you would write that in an exam or test, you say "No".
Seriously contradicting on your part.
It's like me saying I believe that the earth is 4.5 billion yo but then I would write in the exam that the earth is 6000 yo,
LOL. I seriously doubt if you truly believe that the earth is 6000 years old.
If you truly believe in it, then write it in the exams!

Yes I agree with you.
All current religions can be traced to their beginnings.
But of course, no one is absolutely sure if theres a supreme being out beyond the universe. But then again, no one is also absoultely sure if theres a big Fairy out beyond the universe

despondent,
You didnt answer me the last time. Try to answer if you can.
1) You said you believe the earth is 6000 years old. Then I say that radiometric dating is very accurate and is also used to date the deadsea scrolls and christian relics. It is also use to date the age of the earth. So if you trust radiometric dating for the dead sea scrolls, why do you suddenly not trust radiometric dating for the age of the earth to be 4.5 billion years old? Special pleading? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_pleading
2) Also, if you truly believe that the earth is 6000 years old, would you write that in an exam/test if you were required to? Would you ask your students or children to write that the earth is 6000 years old?
Thanks.

Just one question....why u believe the scientists (humans) view (about outerspace and the universe) without seeing it physically by yourself and not religious leaders (humans) view about the universe....how do you decide what you regard as facts ?

Specifically regarding what? science and religion is very broad.
