In ancient times, people think all the elenments are gods...eg. earth, air, fire, water etc...thru modern science, we have learned a great deal about these basic elements....now science can explain things much better....

We have to understand the mindset of primitive men in the past
The world WAS SO UNPOPULATED AND HUGE THEN. Everything seems so unexplainable. There were no instruments, no technology to help them understand pain, sickness and disasters.
So religion was really a comforting thing for them. To explain all of these with a supreme being who looks over them.

Why are there hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, flood, famine, drought etc. ? Is it the work of the christian God ? Why do those people have to die or suffer ? I dunno....why do God allow such calamities to happen ? Please enlighten me on these issues....

Which is also what ancient men thought it to be. Even today, tribal people also make sacrifices to volcanoes and the skies so that they will be spared from disasters.

Yes, the Bible teaches that all death and suffering has its origins in the rebellion of Adam at the Garden of Eden. That many cultures around the world also hold to something similar supports the idea that there was a common thread of knowledge about the past. The same with animal sacrifices that would take the place of man to atone for sins. Again the Bible contains the true account of history and accounts for the origins of these beliefs and practices. -

Lol. Cant believe you still think disasters or calamities are a "punishment/consequence" for sins or wrongdoings....in this modern time and age.
This is plain superstition, as in what the tribal people do by making sacrifices to volcanoes and the skies.

That's just how one chooses to use words to describe the contents of the cup. If a cup is filled with water halfway, one is right whether he says half full or half empty, though I would say to use the term "half empty" is pretty oxymoronic and just a playful use of words. Empty means nothing. Half-nothing is really a meaningless term if you ask me. Half of nothing is nothing still.

Okay...but science is not everything mah....what is the meaning of proven ? Accredited source of thinking ? A dictionary said so ? The TV program said so? Then becomes fact meh? I dunno....you may be right....but I'm more towards the latent aspect of existence....whereby the meaning of life is more important than the definition of life....

of course science cannot be all and end all, but we can trust science and medicine, rather than a book that was written 2011 years ago.
