Reminds me of a story I read once, a woman in dire need of help keep praying for God to help her. Each time someone would come and offer help, be it financial aid or otherwise.
Each time the lady turned away the people saying,"God will provide."
All those times she turned away people and never got the help she needed. After she died and met God and asked God,"Why didn't you help me?"
God replied,"I sent you all those people but you sent them all away."
God does work through people as well, and not necessarily through fellow Christians or fellow church-goers. Neither is God a tool or a cheat code that you summon to do everything magically.
A miracle can also be defined in many ways. To some, a man turning over a new leaf is a miracle in itself.
