Testimony from a Christian

  This is probably one of the better ones I've seen. Better in the sense that it makes sense (sort of) to me. I disagree with the statement that it's a matter of faith for all of us.
  
  "Why do I believe? Feelings, intuitions, the human history of looking beyond and sensing/yearning for something bigger, especially in times of crisis. Our race also has some nearly-universal sense of basic ethics (kindness vs. cruelty, generosity vs. selfishness) that often seems to me to go beyond the hard-wired self-preservation instincts of other animals. I wonder if that's where the divine comes in.
  
  But that's still not really it. For me I believe the Christian life is the best way for me to live. In this world. Even if I'm wrong about the existence of God, I won't have any regrets.
  
  And I surely admit the lack of proof, and don't look down on people who won't throw aside that fact and believe anyway. It's a matter of faith for all of us, atheists included. We all do the best we can with what we have/know/feel."

  I testify that most people would not believe me when I give them my testimony.

  Some even falsely(some deliberately) accused me of...well heresy LOL

  All I want is to show these people that there is a difference between following God and following men(people in power).

  Most people are actually following people in power and  not God. I don't mean that everybody has to rebel against authority but do not comply when asked to commit things that are against your faith. I.E don't sell your God for the sake of social security, avoiding persecution/rejection/trouble/getting shunned.

  So what's your faith worth?
