I believe God has his own ways. Of course his way also does involve working through people. One of the things I never understood (and it's one thing out of a really really really long list) is that if God did exist, and he loved me, and he wanted me to be saved, He would know why I believe His existence to be impossible. He would know what it would take so that I would believe.
Perhaps just as He hardened Pharaoh's heart, He has hardened mine.
I disagree with Ravi Zacharias who claims that hell is not the choice of God; that it is the choice of man who wants to reject God. If God indeed exists, how can it not be His choice when He has made us who we are?
But let's say for the sake of argument God did exist and He was our creator. Let us agree that he is all powerful and all knowing. But he cannot be all good.
This is the God who makes the child pay for the sins of his father. This is the jealous God of Abraham and Moses. This is the God that teases us with salvation, yet unfairly saves some, and condemns others. This is the God that accepts eternal torment as punishment for our deeds in this brief earthly life.
This is a terrible God. If he did exists, how could I love him? Fear him perhaps but not love him. -

This is why the Arminian/Catholic soteriology argument is not persuasive at all.
If God really wants to save as many people as possible, then, 'cos of His omnipotence, He can do it so that people like Phaze and SIS will believe.
