Like what some have said, for the same reason if they place restrictions on shows like Golden Compass, they should enforce the same standards and have similar restrictions on shows like Narnia or even Passion of Christ.
Stopping them from watching the show may not entirely help, because there will be their friends in school or wherever that would have watched the show and talked about it. It would help to educate them based on your own biblical standing rather than let them be lost and not understand what is going on when others talk about the show.
You can do your part even to point out in what way the show criticises your faith and address these criticisms. Just a suggestion though. -

Christians seem to go around with the ideal that we all have the right to tell the world about God and Christ through shows like Passion of Christ or subtlely through Narnia... but why is it that Atheists do not have the right to tell the world their POV??? very very correct. In the end its the person that makes the decision. Parents should not enforce the decision on their child. parenting, to me, is mentoring (note that I do not say I know it all). Mentoring someone to be able to walk on his own two feet, so that when the mentor is not around anymore, the individual can carry his own weight and doing what is right.
Seeing "National Treasure II" this afternoon..... i certainly hope that this movie will agree with my moral and spiritual upbringing
If parents everytime enforce their rule and ask their children only to ''listen'' to them, then how would the children be able to make the right decision when they enter adult life(parents not around) They cant possibly be like, ''oh i dunno to do, wait i go call my parents.''
Conclusion, children must be trained gradually to make their own decisions. -

vince its hard to talk to this other person because he has already formed a set opinion about where I am coming from, ie from a strictly jewish background. which is his first mistake and misconception. So once you start off the wrong footing, everthing else is precieved wrongly... It was the RC Church that declares the various writings to be part of the canon. So they produced the NT. If not for them, maybe today you be reading Marcion's compilation. -
