Why is church seeking donations door to door?

  If you are unsure of how your money will be used, the safest way is not to donate. Later, you dun know whether your money will be used to organise church party or help poor people so just don't donate.

  It is amazing none of the CHC people come in and clarify. Issit a fund raising for the church or some charity.

  In "Why is church seeking donations door to door?" (ST, Dec 20), a member of the public reported that he was approached at home for a donation by someone claiming to be from City Harvest Church.
  
  We would like to categorically state that from the inception of CHC, we have NEVER solicited funds from the public and have NEVER authorized anyone to do so on our behalf. Members of the public should verify the identity of the person(s) seeking donations in the name of CHC, or any other charitable organization, as there could always be a few who may be taking advantage of the spirit of generosity during the Christmas season.
  
  Please inform us at [email protected] or hotline 6737-6266 should anyone come to know of such activities.

  it's worse if ur money is used by a terrorist cell hiding behind a religious organisation.

  go to chc website.u'll see.personally i tink it is not impossible that something like that happen could have been one guy doing things wrongly.but the church has stated clearly in the email n on the website that they did not give any form of permission for anyone to do seek donations door to door.

  i dun think religious organisations can organise door-to-door donation drives. imagine waking up a couple of atheists screwing each other in bed and trying to get them to donate to a religious cause.

  they did not say it's compulsory. but ppl will treat u differently if u dun donate.

  Next time just put your hand in the bag even if you aren't donating. But don't take money from it.
