1. Yes the bible says that and I believe in the bible. many people says its unfair lah etc.... well thats for you to argue with the one who said it and that is God, if you can convince God otherwise, I am sure He will let you into heaven. But if you are asking me, I will just tell you what the bible says.Originally posted by Isis:Eh so will we go to hell if we don't believe in jesus?
Btw I respect jesus but there are man lacking of sufficient spirituality wisdom and misinterpret his teaching.

2. True. But face it, are there any perfect person with a perfect interpretation of the bible? However incompetent a christian is, it does not change who God is.

just as many people find it ridiculous that a God created everything, i too find it ridiculous to say the world is formed from nothing. There must be someone out there and that someone is God. That is my fundmental basis for believing that there is a God. From there, I found my way to Jesus.Originally posted by Isis:ok
my second question why do one believe that there is a God?
Is holy spirit real and why? Any personal experience there?
I believe there is no definite answer to your second question becoz everyone's experiences are different. Like what SIS, some pple say they believe in hindu god becoz they have experiences with hindu gods. Some Christians will tell u they are touched by God and then converted by God.Originally posted by Isis:ok

No la.. buddhism isnt found on nothingness.Originally posted by gasband:just as many people find it ridiculous that a God created everything, i too find it ridiculous to say the world is formed from nothing. i believe in the Holy SPirti becos the bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit is real. But again, you want me to ask him come out let you see, I cant. the Spirit's role is to convict and lead you. Many examples but its late and lazy to type haha.... one example is when I did not know much of the bible and once when I am down becos of family dun like me to become christian, I feel a prompting to turn to a chapter in Romans and thats where i found Romans 8:28.
Do u believe the holy spirit convicts and convert Christians, not people?Originally posted by Isis:No la.. buddhism isnt found on nothingness.
Honestly, im just curious. I attend a few church services and one cell study. However, i don't study much on Christianity.
Anyway, did u personally feel the holy spirit?
feel? define feel? I feel Him everyday. He brings to my mind issues that I try to hide. I feel Him when He leads me to read a passage that i never came across. I feel Him when I am down and He talks to my heart and soul. very hard to say feel or not feel leh hehehe....its really a personal thing....i dun think i explain it very well cos i am sleepy liaoOriginally posted by Isis:No la.. buddhism isnt found on nothingness.

Factually both.Originally posted by laoda99:Do u believe the holy spirit convicts and convert Christians, not people?
That's why we need to countercheck, whether it is the correct thing to do, not just listening to preachers.Originally posted by Isis:Factually both.
Charisma of someone can convince someone to do bad. Like hilter and the bomber from bali bombing. My indo fren say that he can psycho someone to be a sucide bomber in an hour.
ok cos i also think i experience the holy spirit even though im not christian. i must say i always feel a more affinity at heart with christian since young. However, after exploring christianity for only a short while, and after knowing buddhism, i choose buddhism la. Different people have different experience which lead them to believe in different religion.Originally posted by laoda99:I believe there is no definite answer to your second question becoz everyone's experiences are different. I believe the holy spirit is real, and there are people who have experienced him. Why? Until I meet God myself, I don't have an answer for u.
Why do u believe in buddhism then?
There are some people who claim or think that there they are experiencing holy spirit, thus converted lor..Originally posted by laoda99:That's why we need to countercheck, whether it is the correct thing to do, not just listening to preachers.
If u believe that the holy sprit convicts and converts, there....u are answering ur own question already.
To me, the bible is nothing more than a fictional book compiled by ppl long time ago so I reuse the bible as toilet paper and I think ppl should do this so as to save more trees. Actually, I feel that churches should spend more of their church fund on helping the poor instead of renovating the church like some high-class KTV or pay the priest handsome salaries.Originally posted by laoda99:To tell you the truth, upon seeing NUS post things about using the bible as toilet paper, I started comtemplate making a police report against him.
It is reaching some of our limit i suppose.
It is anti- Christianity, not Christians.Originally posted by Cool-gal:not much ple anti christians, only u(TS) n a selected few.
ya la i noe, just edited...Originally posted by NUS_Superst@r:It is anti- Christianity, not Christians.
From my observations, there are many anti-Christianity threads in this forum than in the Buddhism or Toaism forum? And some of us just like to question the bible and God until you all finally get fed up and use this magical sentence.Originally posted by Cool-gal:not many ple anti-christianity, only u(TS) n a selected few.
wtf. why is my name there? i dun hate christians. it's just that god is disturbing my sleep every night just to chitchat with me.Originally posted by SumOne:NUS_Superst@r, ditzy and CyNdI)4.eVa, most of Christians in Singapore have not done anything to you or your family, so why are you posting things like these? A civilised person would know better than this. At least to NUS_Superst@r I have mentioned before that there are Christians, and there are christians.
Not all churches act like MLMs and certainly no Christian has done anything to intentionally harm or hurt you and your family. So what's with all this hate campaign. If you had any sense you would realise what you are doing now is too much regardless of whether it is christianity or not.
Please look past your blind hatred for once and reflect on what you are doing.
isn't that what geog bush is doing?Originally posted by SumOne:Just to add to what I was saying, my own paternal grandparents were killed in during world war 2 by the Japanese. Does it justify my hating the japanese generation now and starting a hate campaign against them?
Just because of the muslim militant terrorists in middle east, should we waging war on all muslims across the world?
Please set aside your blind hate for once and think rationaly.
once again, i am not anti-christian!! stop trying to break my faith, u satans. it's not my fault that god loves me.Originally posted by SumOne:To NUS_Superst@r, ditzy and CyNdI)4.eVa,
Whether or not it was Christians your posts are directed at, what you are doing is wrong. Please do not get carried away by your blind hate. Your posts point towards your hating Christians on very personal grounds, rather than with Christianity itself. Please look beyond the blind hate and look at the bigger picture.
u got a point. that's why must forgive and forget. forgiveness is the first step towards heaven. that's why i am now formally forgiving all those who are anti-christians and jealous that god loves me.Originally posted by SumOne:Even if you made a police report against him, he may still not realise that he is in the wrong. It's not about retaliation or anything, or shutting them up. I just don't want them to really believe in the things their saying.
