hi there i am back again!!! another controversial topic for discussion...perhaps tis has been discussed b4 but i juz wanna see ur stand on tis. can christians be demon-possessed? christians r divided on tis issue...1 thing i noe though is tat the catholics believe tat christians can be demon-possessed...but 1st i muz stress tat demon-possession is nt the same as satanic oppression...so wads ur take on tis?

Well anyone from any religions can be possessed, not only subjected to christians. Irregardless what religions, if your faith is weak, nothing can protect you. No point preaching if its not in your action that is not christian, buddhist or whatever religions.
Anyway this is just for sharing, need not any reply.

however, i dun mean to say the person lost control of himself...i mean the person is under the control of tat particular demon in 1 particular area in his life...for eg. being demonised by a spirit of fornication...tis person stil leads a normal life but is very vulnerable to fornication due to the control of tat demon in him...
so the qn is can tis happen to a christian? -

Ok to set the stage.
1) NOT all addictions, depressions and bondages are demonic influences and demonic inflictions.
2) A person controlled by demonic powers MIGHT have signs and symptoms of addiction/bondages on one subject in particular. Depressions and emotional/tempremental outburst, change of personality.
3) A christian being demon possesessed could possibly be because- a) The christian is a willing party
b) The christian may not be truly saved
c) The christian is unwilling to give up on his addiction/bondage

Meaning of 'Possession' is clear enough to stand on it's own.
However, when a Christian is always held in ways a particular pattern of acts which is considered sinful.
He have problem dealing with it. It is then his decision, a choice he need to make to renounce that HABIT.
In this case, i will take the phrase 1 approach and take that those are his secret Habits.
I would also consider Phrase 2 - which is Demon Harrassment/influence.
This is the external work of demonic powers.
Questions/suggestions and enticement will appear in front of a victim, and he will have to make the decision.

The person may not be possessed unless it is evident that he have no control over himself.
- he will be classified under phrase 1 -2
A person who have no control over his body is
- Demonic oppressed
OR
- Demonic possessed

After that, the solution is simple.
Lets say christians are ppl who believe in God and has God's actknowledgement.
Then christians wldnt get demon poccessed. -

actually each and everyone of us has demons in our body...but is just the level of purity and the level of faith that you have in God controls it..take for example...the spirit of failure, you will have thinkings that you are nt going to do this certain project and and you kip thinking that you will fail. There are many types of demons...they even have names like spirit of fear, spirit of lust etc etc...To be frank, even pastors or reverend have demons but is whether the willingness and how strong are you in God controls these demons...Rem even DEMONS tremble at name of Jesus!

Quite theological - you are right - who is a Christian?
Someone who accepts Christ as his personal saviour - easy enough.
Does it mean, then, that this person is now no longer incapable of sin? No!
So if a person stumble and succumb to sin, does this person stop being a Christian? also No!
The question is WHY is a person demon possessed?
1. Is it because he wilfully continues to dabble with the occult?2. Is it because he has no choice but to live in an occult-influenced environment?3. Is it because his faith his weak, and his psyche is weaker?
So to answer your original question: it depends. Scenario 1, I'd say no, no Christian should dabble with the occult after his acceptance of Christ.
Scenario 2 is quite situational.... some converts are still financially dependent on other members of his family, so he cannot move out.
Scenario 3 probably can still be considered as Christian.
Having said all that, they are just my personal opinions.

Two kinds of senario need to be addressed.
Christians who knows the demonic influences but yet he choses to get involved. Knowingly
Christians who got involved in demonic powers unknowingly or when they were young.
Eg. His parents offered him to other gods as a 'child' when he was a infant.
This boy have no knowledge that he was offered to gods. Hence have unknowingly contacted demonic bondage in his life.
And in most case, the bondage doesn't manifest until the Spirit of God wants to restore/free him.

under the influence means you have control, being controlled means you have no control. the word "possessed" means the demon has taken over you, it is INSIDE you, and has taken CONTROL of you. this is more than additions, depressions... -
well, from wad i noe christians of the reformed faith usually take the stand tat christians cun be demon-possessed...n christians in their case r defined as those predestined to be christians...hence leading to the belief tat salvation cun be lost...so the issue tat separates christians abt demon-possession is whether man has the choice to choose to allow the demon to stay in his body...many reformers in their beliefs in calvinism take the stand tat since God is in control, He wun allow His own child to be demon-possessed...so its a qn of man's freewill vs God's sovereignty...
