CHC is not related. dun try to confuse me for fun.Originally posted by laurence82:for first paragraph....huh? can explain again?
as to the link between CHC and dharma centres, if SOA and Buddhism can be linked the concept of wealth, i am sure CHC with its wealth and prosperity gospels can be qualified as a branch of Buddhism too
Of course they are not related...thats the point i am trying to get acrossOriginally posted by Ito_^:CHC is not related. dun try to confuse me for fun.
i meant soa is about worldly belief, the stuff bwb don't like.. how come the debates always with EH, etc.

Well i am sure many understand what you mean with so much different posts seemingly to be of Buddhist externally however internally or essence can be so different. Its best to view with discretion. BWB is definitely a True Mahayana Buddhist Forum in my personal perspective.

These are questions ? Or carnal desires of men to fulfil their own "wants".Originally posted by laoda99:help to answer.
Some questions were posed to me:
1) What is the way to the divine in Christianity?
2) Is there any other way besides Christ?
3) Is Christianity verifiable? One of the buddhists say he is a business man and it is his nature to be skeptical abt the things he hear.
Will be discussing with them next week again, so any input here is welcomed!
Can you explain a bit more on the above quote ? Where did u hear it from or how did u come to that conclusion ?Originally posted by laurence82:When you do works in Christianity, the reasoning is that you do for God.
Hi ito, perhaps you should find out more abt buddhism before you comment on it. When I was young and ignorant, I had thought that Buddha was a God/deity too, due to shows like 'journey to the west' and the likes. Even some taoists I spoke to thought Buddha is a God in Buddhism, like as in Taoism, but the fact is, Buddha is NOT a God in the Buddhism context.Originally posted by Ito_^:ya, but buddha (and often buddhist monks) is often mentioned as someone who can give riches or as a deity. surely there is already a link established between these two forums.
to me even if soa is not a buddhist forum, the relationship is there.
ok la, i admit it. i was asking how come they never mortal kombat each other.

Thank you.
ok. Thank you.Originally posted by M©+square:He meant, in Christianity and christian-life.
Whatever you do, the default motive, will be for God's glory. To honor God.
The life of a Christian is to love God and do('christianlifestyle) that pleases God.
He meant, living a God-centric life or some where along that line.

what you say is true, for us who view both SOA and BWB externally, they do look seemingly similar to us that are without the understanding of how things are being taught/run in them.
have a nice day.

Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Hi all... those wondering the relation between the BWB and SOA forum, there is not much link between. SOA deals more with things like feng shui, thai amulets (and that is why there is some apparent buddhist link), although thai amulets is more strictly a tradition of Brahmanism. but it is also accepted by many thai buddhists.
BWB is about Buddhism, the teachings of Buddha, and not other cultural practises.

BackslidingOriginally posted by An Eternal Now:As we have discussed earlier on Skype, Christianity can be basically defined as a relationship with God.
So, what is the crucial factor that determines the quality of one's relationship with God?
That is the crucial factor of the 'un'quality of the relationship... wat is the opposite of backsliding?Originally posted by laoda99:Backsliding
Edifying?Originally posted by An Eternal Now:That is the crucial factor of the 'un'quality of the relationship... wat is the opposite of backsliding?
Which is good but not quite there... bcos one's relationship with God isnt just about our own efforts to be spiritually good.. isnt it?Originally posted by laoda99:Edifying?
Hmmm.....wat do u have in mind then? (Dun tell me u say must be born of the spirit )Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Which is good but not quite there... bcos one's relationship with God isnt just about our own efforts to be spiritually good.. isnt it?
