here is the short and sharp...Originally posted by laoda99:help to answer.
Some questions were posed to me:
1) What is the way to the divine in Christianity?
2) Is there any other way besides Christ?
3) Is Christianity verifiable? One of the buddhists say he is a business man and it is his nature to be skeptical abt the things he hear.
Will be discussing with them next week again, so any input here is welcomed!
Actually we all believe in whom we believe, be it GOD, BUDDHA, ALLAH or anyone else (sorry for the mis spelling, pls forgive me) We cannot condemn other religions simply becoz we believe in ours.Originally posted by laoda99:help to answer.

this is more of a buddhist question, to us, if being divine is to be with God, then the way to divine is resting in the finished work of Christ.
2) Is there any other way besides Christ?
Christ is the only way, if there is any other way, then Christ died in vain
3) Is Christianity verifiable? One of the buddhists say he is a business man and it is his nature to be skeptical abt the things he hear.
there is no way to fully satisfy a skeptic, unless he chose to be satisfied in the first place.

Personally, I feel that there is nothing wrong for Laoda to clarify his doubts. All of us have our doubts at times, it is through questions do we sometimes get better answers, rather than to make assumptions which may be wrong.Originally posted by M©+square:

ya, but buddha (and often buddhist monks) is often mentioned as someone who can give riches or as a deity. surely there is already a link established between these two forums.Originally posted by laurence82:SOA not a Buddhist forum leh

Since when a Buddhist monk or Buddha is someone who give riches or is worshipped as a deity?Originally posted by Ito_^:ya, but buddha (and often buddhist monks) is often mentioned as someone who can give riches or as a deity. surely there is already a link established between these two forums.
to me even if soa is not a buddhist forum, the relationship is there.
no, dats folk belief which soa is mostly about, that bwb demotes. the worship of those "worldly spirits", cow head with buddha body for example, etc.Originally posted by laurence82:Since when a Buddhist monk or Buddha is someone who give riches or is worshipped as a deity?
You are talking abt Buddhism or Chinese mythology?
And fengshui is not concerned solely with wealth
By your logic, CHC can a be a Buddhist dharma centre liao.
for first paragraph....huh? can explain again?Originally posted by Ito_^:no, dats folk belief which soa is mostly about, that bwb demotes. the worship of those "worldly spirits", cow head with buddha body for example, etc.
if they start saying buddha and karma every sentence. but that still wouldn't be a dharma centre, juz some crazed buddhist-cult-wannabe maybe.
