Worship is our proper duty towards the Almighty God, a reflection of our proper position as creatures who owe our salvation and very existence to His infinite mercy.
If we get edified in the process, then that is an additional grace from God.

If we look at it from a marketing perspective, then Jesus Himself would have been a colossal failure as well. Look at how many disciples He lost after preaching the 'Bread of Life' discourse in John 6.
Look at how the mob who shouted 'Hosanna' at His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday were the same one that shouted for his Crucifixion on Good Friday.
Did not God said the following?
" For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9
