really, such fundamentalism is appalling.... i cannot take this..
if Christmas is pagan, why do we complain that it is becoming too commercialised?
can anyone give me his/her views on my thinking?Originally posted by stellazio:i "celebrate" christmas for one and only reason..to show that he was born as man on earth..though its not the correct day but by not "celebrating" that day is to mean that out of the 365 days on earth,he was never borned but he descened into earth as a holy spirit. and not born out of the virgin's mary womb..
are you trying to make trouble?Originally posted by stellazio:can anyone give me his/her views on my thinking?
God wants to keep Santa Claus in business and make all the kids happy.Originally posted by breytonhartge:All it comes down to here is what is more important?
1. What is more important to GOD? or
2. What is more important to us?
make what trouble?i'm an anglican and surely i deserved to air my views here..Originally posted by breytonhartge:are you trying to make trouble?

if you are an anglican, and a christian, then you should know what is wrong with your post.Originally posted by stellazio:make what trouble?i'm an anglican and surely i deserved to air my views here..
and all i'm asking is what u guys think about my views..is that any wrong?

first of all in your eyes, Jesus was never born, so what is there to celebrateOriginally posted by stellazio:den why not u answer my post instead of questioning me?
is there any wrong to believe that celebrating on the wrong day is better den not celebrating at all?

ok, just a short one,Originally posted by stellazio:can anyone give me his/her views on my thinking?
thats y i use the word "celebrate"..not the same celebration term we know..cuz i dunno how to describe it..Originally posted by breytonhartge:first of all in your eyes, Jesus was never born, so what is there to celebrate
Please read matthew chapter 1.
also God never asked us to celebrate it. So why do you? And by celebrating christmas, you are giving validation to all the pagan meanings that are behind it. Have you not read my earlier post?
Seriously if you say Jesus was never born, then you are denying the Isaiah prophecy and him being 100% human. And this is a heretical thought.Originally posted by breytonhartge:first of all in your eyes, Jesus was never born, so what is there to celebrate

I never said that Jesus was never born... I said that Stella said that Jesus was never born... read carefully ok?Originally posted by Icemoon:Seriously if you say Jesus was never born, then you are denying the Isaiah prophecy and him being 100% human. And this is a heretical thought.
And the quotes in blue .. I'm sorry to say you are the one who is NOT living under grace. You don't celebrate Christmas, Easter and Good Friday. Don't you realize you are living under [your self made] laws?
Look .. Christians here are not idiots. I'm sure vince, NT, CE etc. know the pagan origins. And I'm sure they are not giving validation to the pagan meanings either.
Cheeers.
Hi,Originally posted by stellazio:thats y i use the word "celebrate"..not the same celebration term we know..cuz i dunno how to describe it..
sure god didn't ask us to "celebrate" his coming as a man,but isn't that something worthwhile to rejoice for..
for he went on to die for us..i'm not going into good friday or easter dun get me wrong..
but i just feel that for soemthing that he did for us,we should be happy..
i mean being a holy being,he could have so easily came onto earth, but he chose to be born as man,and in my opinion.every birth should be a moment to be happy about..
If we take the sociological? view ..Originally posted by vince69:ok, just a short one,
not celebrating christmas also does not means he was never born as a man (no link), just like not celebrating my birthday does not means I am not born or I does not exist.
this I agree with.Originally posted by vince69:Hi,
Then I think the correct word should be thankful, thankful that God sent His Son, Jesus to us, to suffer and die on the cross for us, and rose again, and now seated on the right hand of God as our High priest and mediator before God.
and yes, we should be thankful, and we should do this everyday.
You cannot see the big picture.Originally posted by breytonhartge:Your train of argument is flawed. Not celebrating these pagan festivals has got nothing to do with grace at all. A pagan festival is a pagan festival. No matter how you want to try and disguise it.
how to increase rating like that?Originally posted by breytonhartge:icemoon, you have your views and I have mine and like unker eng says, lets agree to disagree. OK?
and you cannot see the spiritual consequences.Originally posted by Icemoon:You cannot see the big picture.
What do Christians normally do during these pagan festivals? Pagan actions like worshipping Baal?
Originally posted by Icemoon:If we take the sociological? view ..
You need festivals to reinforce your faith. In the cynical sense, it is like national education and those propaganda advertisements by the government.
Christmas is a time when children or even adults act out the nativity (sp?) scene in the bible. And a time for Christians to go carolling to non believers. I don't see these actions as being evil.
that is where you assume wrongly. I am not practicing Judiaism. I am a Christian that has gone back to Hebraic roots. Very differnt. So you work on the sabbath? Even christians keep the sabbath or try to, but on the wrong day... sigh...Originally posted by Icemoon:how to increase rating like that?
We are almost out of top 20 you know?
on a serious note .. I really think you cannot see the big picture behind all the teachings. Just like the Pharisees - no healing on the Sabbath 'cos the Torah says no working on the Sabbath.
