orite some end July 2008 Johore bahru pics
location: Qute the near chk pt
Ignore the pedestrians. Anyhow
Some Hino AK thing / Hicom DRb bodywork
Maju Svc 221
Mercedes Benz CBC1725 in Liannex Bodywork
Causway link (CW) Svc 6B
Thee B stands for going to JB svc. (Bandaraya)
Note: This front design is essentially copied from the Mercedes Benz integrated bodywork Trevago for coaches in germany. Essentially Since this is a Merc, i have no issue calling the bus a Trevago as well. lol
Hino AK bus / Gemilang
Bdowyork not verified...
Maju Svc 226
Some Hino in what looks suspiciuosly like a volgren old school bodywork.
Cant say for sure.
Triton Svc 502
Thats more like it. A merc 3 point star. looks more trevago.
Mercedes benz CBC1725 / Liannex
Forgot to metion that this Liannex style is for newer buses.
Causeway link Svc 7B
Yipee a MAN
MAN SL252 / Hicom DRB
CW Svc 1B
Incidentally i believe this bus came from KL's former bus co Intra Kota....
Changed location to "near bike shop along costal rd"
Daewooo B??0?? / >>???? bodywork
We hear the bodywork is of Australian origin...
Triton Svc 501A
MAN 18.250 ?? / Hicom DRB
???? Svc CT1
Essentailly a tourist style bus for a tourist svc...
Hino AK / SKS
Maju Svc "To JB"
Essentially i find the bus looking very much like our current Soon Chow bodywork for coaches..who copy who?
Mercedes benz O.405 / Hicom DRB (older one)
City bus Svc 41
Bus comes with ZF transmission. so sounds like the SMRT O.405s. Madnes lah the doors..
??? / Soon Chow
Singapore johore Express (SJE)
Denis Lance / Duple-Metsec
Triton Svc 503
Essentially there is a reason why we refer to some Dennis lance of SMRT as "Malaysian Lances"... lol. they look e same.
In this case the doors wd be different from the many SMRTbuses "Malsyaisn lance"
However, PA644 and PA669 have these exact same doors. True blue malaysian lances. Porbably even from same chassis batch.
We shift over to the roadside terminus right in the heart of the Johore bahru town area
This Dennis Lance on Triton Svc 503 just made its turn to the "layover berths" of the roadside terminal. Essentially any very big major town in malaysia, you will find this kind of in the city by the road layover and jam the place up operations. Eg: KL, penang and JB
This CW Svc 7B "trevago" has some panel damage from hitting the kerb making this turn on its previuos trip perhaps. Note the scrapped kern surface..ouch..Buah (rub) by undercarriage of buses making sharp turns
yipee another MAN. This time a Causeway Link MAn bus in Liannex bodywork. very common on corss border svc CW1 this model. Comes with Voith transmissions like most MAns.
This CW service 7B Mercedes benz "trevago" contributes paint chips to the rubbed area and mounts the kerb to complete the dramatic turn
.
MAn 18.250 / Hicom DRB
CW Svc 1B
Dennis Dart / Duple Metsec
Triton Svc 503
midi bus...short bus
A rare find. A Scania city bus in JB! / Hicom bodywork
I suspect its a L93CRl. Much like the KL's citybus Scania (pics in mid-aug )
Offside view of the Scania. A ride on it reveals that its much like the KL Scania citybus. Wth Zf4HP500 transmission.
A Dennis dart goes off and spew black smoke..koff koff and some guy on right reviewing his pics... with that we end this series..koff koff..
Well since its the offical opening of the Olympics in Beijing, here's some photos of Beijing's buses.
京 BK6111CNGZ3 on Service 14
Iveco CNG powered, 12m, Euro 4, Hybrid aircon, Stepped boarding
京 BK6141D2 on Service 7
Iveco Diesel powered, 14m, Euro 3, Articulated, Non aircon, Front engined, Stepped boarding
黄海 DD6118S11 on service 120 (break?)
Cummins Diesel Powered, 12m, Euro 3, Non aircon, Stepped boarding
京 BK6125DK On Service 60 (with faulty eds?)
Cummins Diesel Powered, 12m, Euro 3, Hybrid aircon, Stepped boarding
Unknown, CNG Powered
And some random shots...
These are just the tip of the ice berg. Theres so much different models that u'll simply go stumped identifying it.
Also, just in case anyone is interested, most of the vehicles uses Allison transmissions. I wonder why...
The city bus Scania bus door is weird seh!

If i remember correctly the eds is faulty, can see the plastic (or paper) desto on the wind screen.

Nah, KMB operates K12, K16, K17 and K18 on behalf of MTR bus, using MTR buses (which in turn are leased from KCRC, which is just a holding company now).

any chance of SG buying this type of bus ?
heh thats beijing's fuel Cell Citaro. Fuel Cell buses are on trials around the world. but not in Singapore.
We shall need the infratructure to fill up such a bus then perhaps Damier Crysler cd send one nice unit over to Singapore once we have a electirc fuel cell refueling station up n running..hahaz
Notice the bus is in full german design. even the usual beijing digital EDS is not installed. instead a Euroepan style ED is used. i heard the bus is improted CBU from germany.
the bus will essentially sound like a OC500LE of SMRtbbus.
