I think SBST would not purchase bendy buses cause of the maintenance issue. This type of bus is not easy to maintain, like the articulation mechanism also got problem should it went faulty. The pick-up speed is not as good as normal bus cause only the rear pair of wheels are providing the propulsion. Therefore SBST would rather purchase more Double-deckers then the benddies.

ya. actually im referring to super low floor front to rear buses and not just low entry entrance to exit. yep

The cool thing is that the ''barrier glasses'' infront of the front seats have the scania badge.
Picture taken in Skorea last year. Bus shown is a Daewoo BX212H/S Royal Hi-decker Euro III.
Daewoo BS 106 and Hyundai Aero City.
Kia Granbird Hi-Decker Hi-Class
Route: Incheon Airport <-> Wonju Intercity Bus Terminal(Kangwon-do)
__________________________________________________________
Wonju City Bus. From Downtown Wonju to Sinrim-guun. Also a Hyundai Aero City. Doesn't it look like the Nissan UDs in CSS/TIBS fleet? Driver's console.
Similar to UDs...
The Hyundai Aero City was a JV between Hyundai and Nissan Diesel... Thus the Aero City is sort of similar to the UDs... Picture taken at ì›ì£¼ê³ ë™í•™êµ(Wonju High School)... Wonju, a small city in Kangwon Province, even has something similar to our IRIS Nextbus system, at bus stops...
Wonju Sv. 21 Wonju City Market to Sinrim(ì‹ ë¦¼)
Front of bus... B/C went out for a smoke... Bus was very bouncy... Something like the UDs...
Rear of the bus... Sinrim is in the countryside, 19km out of Wonju City. Thus the mountain scenary. The route goes round the Chiak-san mountain ranges, and goes up 320m above sea level in under 4km and down in 9km. Vice versa for the other way. B/C managed very easily to go at 100kmph when climbing. It is a manual bus, not automatic.
Bus leaving the Sinrim "minor" terminus, heading back for Wonju. Notice the "petrol kiosk".
Read the words in English... Hyundai Oilbank!
In Korea, most of the everyday goods/things you need is owned by the conglomerates, Hyundai, Kia, etc... Ben, now you believe me?
They call Petrol kiosk - Oilbank! *Gosh*
A little sidetrack here, a typical bus stop in the countryside. Note the sofas...
Back in Wonju City and photo of Sv. 3 at Danguro Intersection...
Another Daewoo Royal Hi-Decker...
Bus heading to Wonju Central Market(ì›주시ì²).
Hae-undae Ski resort - Wonju Intercity Express Bus Terminal Shuttle.
Cross-Country Express Bus. From Southern Provinces to Wonju Express Bus Terminal. Taken at Musill-lo Intersection.
Picture above. Tour bus turning right towards Wonju Express Bus Terminal. Kia Granbird Circus.
Wonju Prison Transport. Note: Kumho Tyres.
Hyundai Powertec... Similar to Daewoo's Royal Hi-Decker. Bodywork by Mando.
Typical school bus in South Korea. Hyundai Aero City.
That's it folks! My first batch here. Please don't give harsh comments thx.
KMB (Hong Kong) k230UB
KMB has ordered 30 units of these things in 2008. the first few have since arrived in hong Kong and doing road tests.
a pic of the bus cna be found on oreintal buses models website. Or just search google "KMB Scania K230UB"
Interior:
the PIW area is on the LHS, doorside. but the air pressure systems seem to really take up lots of space. there is not even a granny seat in bus. the driver door seems big and bulky and the entry door area to aisle seem rather tight and squeezy.
there seems to be a standee area behind the air pressure equipement box behind driver cabin and on the RHS are 2 by 2 seats. In all i think the bus has only 32 seating. Looks like hong kong ppl might complain about this.
the same old many steps to rear feature of a K230Ub remains. the rear seems kind of dark as last window does not seem to exist.
Standard PIW facilties, likely auto-ramp at rear door. With PIW push bell and PIW seatbelt and back rest. What looks cool is they seem to have put the fire extinguisher ina nifty compartment inside the PIW backrest thing. cool.

and probably SBST should have adopted the seating approach of KMB's K230UB.

It is a half SLF bus. To me the interior is poor than MIC bus.

WNP8459 on B101, KL Sentral <-> Titiwangsa
Sorry it's blur. Was rushing for my train.
RapidPenang to go with RapidKL.
I can't help but say its hardly rapid.....and some things they do there = ???
e.g Refuelling with all of us still on board.
And last bus that goes from point A to B but somehow disappears at point B without coming back to point A.
All these......I had the previlege of experiencing. Not to mention serious bunching-ups, and the "best" frequency that easily trounces the worst S'pore has to offer.
On whole though.....still not a bad experience. Well here's some pics to chew on....ok, not that many.

i'll stick to travelling via their rail system in KL. their buses.....
once i waited at Universiti station for the bus to their university to beo girls... the bus never started service even after 40mins(the bus was there, engine on, aircon on though)!!
end up go back to KLCC.
And the winner picture.....this is the picture of the bus that just went by without even stopping. The very next bus 30 min almost did the same thing. But something must have clicked in the bus driver. Because he did an emergency brake with no care for the world or traffic and honks and apologised to the pissed-off us. Well, SBST and SMRT, try beating that!

There are some who keep going on about Boon Lay Station.
I suggest they take a look at Weld Quay, Penang.
Terrigible is all I can say.
Buses here, buses there.
We boarded the bus there and...........period.
We remained stuck there for the next 40 min while the buses in the int lined up to leave.
The RapidPenang buses are all Higer buses. At least those above 10m long.
All also appeared to be fitted with Voith 4 speed. But there seems to be 2 variants of the voith. One is the B9TL type, 3 + 1 overdrive. The other, some of our MKIV DM type, 2 + 2 overdrive.
The former was shiok when going for the winding hilly roads. And from these trips, I fell in love with Voith even more.....its very smooth although the driver kept braking, and the engine-braking was terrific for winding down-hills.
The latter was shiok for wide open roads but sucked at the mainly congested roads. Unlike the former, this one has no problem hitting above 80km/h. Like our MKIV DMs with this type, the last gear only appears after 65km/h.
The Higers came in the 10+m, and 11+m variants.....and appears to be fitted with Cummins. That and the voith and the ever wonderful (no sarcasm this time) M'sian drivers made me look forward to every ride with the bus.
Unfortunately, it is also not uncommon to see buses with cracked exit door windows. And its not hard to tell why.
