A Merc Citaro G.
Its good to have a photo of it since they will be off London roads by next year. Their Fate is currently unclear......

Maybe you shouldn't upload the ones that have you inside the pics. The cut out face kinda spoils the whole pic.

Run by Metoline, which is fully owned by ComfortDelgro. Which is direct opposite of our Sv 190 here, use big bus run by someone else. :P

Well, the Londoners could rather have it off their roads, and they will not miss it.
One of the reasons why they voted in their current mayor (Boris Johnson) was because he promised to get rid of these unpopular bendy buses, and to help develop and bring in a new generation of the Routemaster bus. When he came into office, that became his piority, and he set up a competition to allow people to submit suggestions, proposals, and designs. Two of the designs has already been selected and prototypes (i.e. demonstrators) will appear in 2011.
Imagine such a thing for Singapore - locals being able to design their own dream bus.

The London Bendy Buses were unpopular because of their tendency to catch fire easily thanks to engine overheating.
One thing i really wonder. If they were to get those Citaro Gs out of london, where will those citaros go? I really dun think it's profitable to scrap them while they are less than 10 years on the roads.

For no particular reason, I decided to go to the Transport for London web site to see what their route 190 is like, and it seems like it's an opposite of our route 190 too, short and mostly serving residential areas, unlike our city-bound and long route 190. That explains the small buses for this route, though it can't explain why SBS Transit's cousin in London is running it .
p.s. Slightly off-topic, but I find the Transport for London web site to be really well-designed and comprehensive; they have service updates for both their bus and rail systems, etc., and their journey planner even has an option for cyclists! Definitely something for LTA to learn from and emulate, rather than wasting taxpayers' money on rather useless gimmicks like the next bus arrival boards, who functionality, to be honest, is rather limited.

Something which LTA is trying to follow, www.publictransport.sg, which is eons behind the British and Australian cities.

The londoners hate the bendies is not because the fact that they catch fire easily. But the fact that Routemaster is part of their culture. The moment u talk about london people will start to think of the red double deckers. By taking the routemasters off the road is like trying to take the culture off them.
Its the same as saying that u try to take away the multi-culture society of Singapore.

Looks llke an Isuzu Erga to me but with local bodywork side windows. Kia do not make citybuses...unless this bus has Coach specs.

ohhh i believe that has been done...but not by the public of course. Local bodyworks are common here. From Soon Chow buses to ur SC Auto bsues....aren't these locals in the industry who designed the bsues?
