What about SMRT Mercedes Benz (SMB) ?
SMB is [SPH Mai(买) Bus] :).
Last time i thought it was said 14 and 18th may? The reason stated vaguely here was it had issues with LTA. What did LTA do?
Seriously SMRT should look into further improving their image by providing better services, not promoting their name aggressively (not directly linked to SMB/TIB issue).
I believe when SMRT bought over TIBS. there was a part in the article which wrote that they would preserve the TIB plate for new buses as memory for its milestones of the past.
now they go bacjk on their word.

Actually I'm not sure if SMRT has a say in this.

Just after SMRT took over Tibs in 2004, 10 buses from CSS were transferred over to SMRT (9 CAC Nissan UDs and 1 UMW Lance). They changed to TIB plates after the transfer.
However in 2006 when more CSS buses were also transferred to SMRT, the CSS plates were maintained instead of changing to TIB plates. Same for the transfer after CSS wind down in 2007.
And for now SMRT bought new buses and decided to use the new SMB plate instead of reusing the TIB plates.
Whereas for SBS buses, they have been using SBS plates for over 30 years since day 1
SMB 1 H sounds abit wrong...

And info give to me is that this bus will be under AMDEP. It will be depolyed to service 190 wef this coming Sunday, provided that there will be no more hiccups.
So happy spotting and camping at either CCK or New Bridge Road guys. Feel free to keep a lookout along the road too and standby your cameras. But just a reminder that no photography is allowed at the bus interchanges or terminals.
Yeah, I'll try to confirm the service deployed if I can.
The first few buses will all be in AMDEP. 851 and 854 are next. Will try to check out when they getting.
I guess it can be seen as SMB a move to de-TIB as many still have TIBS in their minds...
If they compare TIB and SMB and both carries SMRT livery, plus if the SMB bus gives them a good impression, they will remember SMB as the 'new' SMRT and they will forget TIBS as well...
Those who have lived with TIBS will not forget no matter if its going to be SMB or SPH that is going to be the prefix...
