Not sure about service 20 (Bedok - Ghim Moh), remembered Volvo B57 NZMB and Albion Vikings on that service in 1986.
I remembered seeing a pic of a Mercedes OF1417 Hawke on service 90 in one of the 1986 old books, but in 1988 I remembered seeing also a Volvo B57 on service 90. Somewhere in 1987-1988 there was a depot transfer I think.

LAs were also used on service 196 before, I believed that service 196 was also partial BNDEP controlled too.

Hehe , yeah ... those were the days when 179 343 344 345 around ....
I've got fond memories @ the old Jurong Int.Always travel through and flow there.Remember one service 406 which goes to Chinese Gdn.The bus stop pole mark still exist along the pavement @ Chinese Gdn.Think it would be better if one new service ply there
I still remember those days when there was Service 220 around to connect Bedok North and Bedok South effectively using mostly CAC N113CRBs. Service 220 was abolished when I started primany 1.

Qn: Which buses were in HGDEP during the 80s? Remember Volvo B57s, then the Merc OF1417s and MB0305s too...

I am not sure, but I think HGDEP had a mixture of Volvo B57s as well as the MB OF1417s. What I remembered was that HGDEP had Volvo MK2, MK3 and MK4 SD buses after that, as well as the Volvo DDs. The Tridants also went into HGDEP in 2001 to replace all the outgoing MB0305s.

still have some menories of taking 10 all the way from jurong to tampines and it took, ahem, aorund 2 hours to complete the whole journey :-p
Can we talk about old bus models also? I may have boarded an O305 once or twice on 28 or 31 when I was very young. I heard that the O305's are quite smooth and similar to the O405's. There was also LO2x, Leyland Atlanteans, etc. Anyone remember them? After all, I was born in 1994 and my favourite fleet will be the fleet in the late 1990s to the early 2000s. There was a great balance between technology and tradition in buses that time.
i like atlanteans and l02x. =D
merc oso gd but noisy noisy der. lols.

very good. the O305 were similair in gearbox to the O405. u probably will have to go Australia now to catch any O305s existing left in the world but dah those too are gg off soon.
the rev diffrentials of Singapore o305s and Hong Kong O305s are diff..u guys ever wonder why? Anyheck i like our O305 reving ptich lor. quite showing that the bus is strong n powerful with a higher revs for biting gear 1 to gear 2 and from biting gear 2 to 3. i hear the hong kong ones like macham the rev so low, the bus sound half dead n not powerful.
a point to note is that older gen bsues definitely have their own unique and sometimes roaring sounds. echoing the point made above about different techhnolgoies, todays EURO IV and EURO V creatures all sound alike. and the mating with standardised gearboxes dun really help with the sounds coming from under the bus...soooo boring de. the oonly proably unqie sounds u cna hear coming from the EURO IV bus is when the bus gearbox is doing some nasty feedback with engine n u hear a grawwwwarrrr sounds lol
Oh yesh... Sv 240 & 246 looks like adjusted
Old 242 replaced by 154?

Yes it is BUS GUIDE, I am posting these is just for information for people whom liked history about buses.
Found that SMRT really killed TIBS, seen the TIBS magazine, so many new buses, so many new interchanges, so many activities, and so gooood, haha
