Do we want to do nothing until the PSI is above 200? Take action now! Boycott Indonesian products. Cancel your trips/holidays to Indonesia.
As a country we have to be present a united front that we cannot tolerate this madness. The haze is killing us. This is environmental terrorism in action.
Not only do we need to respond to this forum, please take concrete actions.
Ok. Stop eating keropok. Other than that.... nothing else. Carry on.
don't be stupid..
frankly, it's the companies which own the land they're clearing for palm oil.. and we should find out which companies own the land, and trace from there.. chances are the Indonesians are right and Temasek could be one of the major shareholders..
but the Indonesian gabrament isn't blameless either.. unenforced laws are no laws..
ya lor.. only silly guy.. oops.. silly boy den say boycott.. want to drink kopi? got c where the kopi powder come from or not?
The Indonesia stupid minister Mr Sony blah blah told S'pore Minister not to care about their domestic affairs.
Ya Lor,Then 80% of gas where to import?Where to get cheap thrills?Obviously Temasek and Khazanah Nasional is behind it

indonesia doesnt produce any products and not found in spore.
what u going to boycott?
Scumbag indonesia:
Creates laws agst burning forests.
Looks the other way when companies pay $$$ to burn(not one company/farmer ever severely prosecuted?).
Blames her neighbours for financing those companies.
Zero fcks given abt citizens' own health. 500 PSI ftw!
Claims to fight the CASH COW fires but sattlelite images show NOTHING being done.
Indonesia: Welcome to the backward land ruled by scumbags. The only nation to still use largescale burning for agricultural development
they bribe the ground officials to close 2 eyes to let them burn
Corruption is still so rampant there.
The haze has caused health hazard.
Indonesia is very selfish. May be they want to see people with asthma die because of haze then they willl do something to stop the burning. Indo people really ........... especially the shitty maids.
Are you really going to give up products such as Nutella made with prolly indonesian palm oil? Even your soap may contain palm oil. I think that our government should take action like perhaps send a delegate to UN to complain about this then the UN help the farmers get paper companies to go and chop trees perhaps and sell them subsidised fertillisers?
by tt time we would already have gone thru another 6 such annual hazes.
Did you read the ID minister's responses? They don't really care. I think there has to be international sanctions against Indonesia.
This is almost as bad as the usage of Chemical weapons in Syria.
Indonesia does not produce anything that give them monopoly of the market. The central government in Jakarta is responsible for the haze.
If we can have a movement that openly boycott all "Made In Indonesia" products, label investors, especially foreign investors in Indonesia as "Environmentally Unfriendly" and boycott their products, this might make the government in JKT wake up a little bit.
Other than that, there is nothing we can do, flood the place to kill all the fires, a big fan that blows all the smoke to JKT, or let sumatra become independent with a more friendly government?

Heard what the other minister said, " if it is few hundreds thousands or a million, they prefer to use their own budget." They are waiting for big donation!! Typical Indonesian.
agree with sgdiehard... there has to be punitive and definite actions... even when the smoke clears... I know this is 400 now and it is hard to believe that it will get better, but one day it gets better....
The question is... will Singapore forget when it all blow over? Will we continue to push for a definite solution. We have to highlight this to the international community. Singapore on its own cannot help. We have to shame the Indonesian government to do something.
now we are glad our ministers are not like theirs
boycott indonesia gas!
Singapore imports natural gas via three regional pipelines, governed by different contracts. Two of these pipelines link Singapore and Indonesia.
Singaporean power company Gas Supply has imported 128 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas per year from Sumatra in Indonesia since 2006 through one contract, which is set to expire in 2023.
Sembcorp has had a contract since since 2001 with Pertamina, Indonesia's national oil company, to import around 119 Bcf of gas per year from West Natuna as part of a 22-year deal.
An Indonesian field operated by ConocoPhillips is set to fuel Singapore's planned Island Power station, although the project has been delayed.
who suffer eventually?
Times are bad.
