The increase of population in Singapore, would essentially take Singapore into a new challenge in Overpopulation.
PAP would probably failed as a Party in our future history book.
Singapore might not prevail.
PAP would probably had to learn it the hard way.
In my opinion, there are three dangers.
- Food
- Water
- Security
It is so dangerous for a city state to be overpopulated.
Especially when the city state and the smaller islands around are not able to sustain the population.
I really suspect how much study was put into the white paper as they claimed?
Overpopulated cities example like London, New York, Seoul, Bangkok or even HongKong are not what Singapore could look up to. Singapore unlike these populated cities, we do not have a broader area where we could tapped resources on. When threatened from another country to ban export to us. This inability could crippled Singapore in the event when resources are not reached in time, say in a month.
In the chinese, this would be known as a battle won without a fight.
Key to a City state's population is about sustainability.
NOT by simply building more Hospitals, Schools, expanding/building more MRT lines and more HDB as to solve the problem of Overpopulation.
Singapore in my opinion simply is having a total reliance on food imports, just look at the quantity, quality and variety of food products imported by Fairprice, Cold Storage. How could we sustain these food products in 2030, with 7million or even more people?
Furthermore, refering to the graphs below it shows that Singapore is very much still relying on Malaysia in terms of food imports, as of 2008.
However from my understanding we are now intending to reduce the reliance on Malaysia, and building a project with China, known as the SuperFarm, which should be completed around 2025. I believe that project was aimed to reduce the imports of food from Malaysia, yet with the introduction of white paper, would have greatly "balance" off the demand by the increased population.
I am doubtful of Singapore's ability to secure enough food after 2030, if the whole world is experiencing an overpopulation as speculated by experts, 9 Billion in World's Population by 2050 if true.
and climatic condition which would also affect the harvest all over the world.
What I am afraid of is that by then not only do Foreigners snatch jobs and scholarships from Singaporeans but also food products. Just because we are meritocratic and Singaporeans doesn't mean that we make the cut, food products could very much be taken by foreigners then. If a food shortage should occur.

Water is another concern,
In 28 June 2011, PUB published on their website that their projection for NEWater is to meet 50% of Singapore's water demand by 2060.
I was just curious on what population was taken into consideration when the projection was made.
Furthermore, I heard technology used by NEWater are energy consuming. so as water demand increases, if it happen to coincide with increase in gas/fuel prices. then would water be a privilege too for ordinary Singaporeans?
Because even the Americans are making noises on whether is U.S.A running low on water.

So fundamentally food and water could be the factor that Singapore would be facing in 2030. Human's fundamental needs.
Third concern, is Singapore's ability to maneuver internationally and regionally.
I wondered if it ever came across the table of those policy makers that, having more than 50% of the population being foreign born.
What sovereignty is there to talk about?
Once there is any disagreement with neighbouring or international country, how hard is it to provoke a revoke against our Government?
Or even legitimately armed the foreigners which would then be known as PRs or New Singapore Citizens.
So if Singapore Armed Forces was to hit back, it would be against International human rights law. Just like what happened in Lybia.
Or say if a group of 10,000 people unarmed or armed with knifes and sticks intend to overrun a small army camp, ideally on weekends. using heavy vehicles to break in.
could our soldiers shoot to stop them? Even if they were given live ammunition. If they shoot, nothing happen, it is their fault. If they don't shoot and got overrun it is also their fault.
I believe those on guards duty are not armed or train to disperse a huge crowd of people. and once the group of 10,000 overrun camp and armed themselves with the asernal of weapons. they could then continue rampaging through other camps for more weapons.
Singapore is gonna be in ruin in a matter of days, in my opinion.
Lybia was toppled by a terrorist groups which claimed to be Lybians, and backed by the western powers.
Gadaffi did said before his death that he was fighting a terrorist group.
However Western power on their interest and in the name of human rights, supported the terrorist groups and toppled Gaddafi.
Gaddafi also said before that once he is toppled, Africa would be in chaos.
Which happened quickly in Mali, terrorist groups with link with Al qaeda and Lybia's "rebel"
Lybia, I suspect could be under the ruling of a terrorist group.
and if this happen in Singapore, the reward for foreigners would be huge.
a country's wealth and the enslave of its people.

The problem with Singapore is that we could not stay totally neutral, it would have fustrate either the U.S or China eventually. they need a dicisive ally in the near future that would side with them.

our flat design and build are not ready for noise insulation. the flooring and ceiling shared by 2 families, once got noise that's is. no wonder noise issue on teh rise and families cannot have a settlement on them. all these years the feedback they still dont know how to innovate and lookinto design and build of flats.
when loan is high price is high, poeple either buy rent to pay loan, or buy rent all then after a while sell, for those who want to make quick profit.
this is their ploy, to make life difficult, then make you go extreme means to sell flat to make ends meet, or for those greedy ons to sell and pockt the profits.
their encouraing people to form kampung style is also worng. This is HDB, not kampung or landed property. your gathering at doorsteps laffing and chatting building rapaprt you disturb the people next door sleeping or napping, really!
i am not against builfing rapprt and getting to know the neighbours, but they should not do it in the middle of the roads, in fromt of mrt exits, infront of the lifts, in the middle or hdb walkway along the flat units. they should vbuild rapport during gatherings or public activites, these are policies made by people who never living in HDB before.
also they should enforce those who rent out flats to stay quiet. draggin furniture all day long people should ask them leave. once a few times like that the tenant will know really put the mind to educate and make the house 'rental' proof. they not statyuing tehre so not their problem. we sgreans have to suffer!
