Good job! Bus captain offers passenger umbrella in heavy rain
STOMPer ivan was passing through Sembawang Road when he spotted a stationary bus. It had been hit by branches which had probably fallen due to the heavy downpour, he says.
In a similar incident, strong winds caused tree branches in a Woodlands carpark to fall and narrowly miss a STOMPer's children. However, they damaged his car. The town council then responded by removing some of the trees there.
Said the STOMPer (Jan 29):
"Under the heavy downpour, a large branch broke away and hit a moving bus.
"The incident happened this afternoon around 4.30pm along Sembawang Road.
"Nobody seemed to be injured.
"I drove past when I saw this, and the bus was already stationary.
"The passengers had left the bus, and I only saw the bus driver."
