  Wonder how the bus services in these areas will be like till now if not because of the bus and MRT/LRT merger in 1999...

  Some possibilities might happen:-

  • Scania K230UBs on services 61, 67, 106, 172, 185 (CCK - Jln Anak Bt), 188, 189, 190, 307, 365...
  • Volvo B9TLs on service 190...
  • LO3x on service 188...
  • LO3x, VO2x on services 172, 175 (LCK - Upp Bt Timah)...
  • VO3x on services 300, 302, 307...
  • Merc OC500LEs on services 82, 103, 864, 865, 866...

  A blessing in disguise for 67, if it's still under SBST, most probably will be all KUBs and the frequency gotta be real good to cope with the demand esp for wkends.

  Forgot to add on... service 61 could also have Volvo B9TLs. Also Eunos came under BRBP route group in 2004, 0405s sure appear on service 61 too

  There would not be Services 970, 975 and 985.
  
  920 and 922 would not exist.
  
  Probably the feeder services will be numbered 17x and 18x .... 
  (Just like Hougang's 112,113,115)
  
  Probably current SBST services 17x and 18x will not be used by Jurong's Trunk Services.
  
  SBST may have different plans from Tibs BPLRT rationalisation.
  
  Probably more bus services to connect to new towns in the East.
  
  May even have a direct link to Jurong West (Pioneer area)

  Things would be somewhat better than today, as the DDs would stay in NW and bendies would flood NE.

   

  365 extend to YWT via Kranji Camp and ply opposite direction of 307 @ CCK St 62 (and renumbered obviously).

   

  Better still if Tibs took HGN routes and SBS got back BPJ town.

  Most probably 51, 74, 84, 97, 100, 105, 107, 111, 132, 147, 151, 153, 156, 158, 165, 315, 317, 321, 322, 323, 325, 326, 327, 328, 501, 502, 511, 512 has to be handed over.

  Yet I'm wondering BPJ & WDL might been targeted for hand/ takeover if Tibs took NEL resulting in enclave bet SBW, YIS, SGN, HGN, SKG, PGL, SER.

  106 in any ways would be handed over. 159 will continue to loop at AMK Hub.

  27 might continue stayed on at Tampines till to tis day.

  I dun think SBS would want to change the feeder numbering system cos it's alrdy filled.

  I mean if they take back BPJ, 34X was still in use in 1999. The most WDL feeder become 37X instead.  Back to 372 era

  Yes... adding on to Jln Kayu too. It was mentioned in the press release way back in 1995 when Tibs expanded its network by taking over Bt Panjang, Jalan Kayu and Punggol services. Tibs at that time also had long term plans to introduce new services to the upcoming new towns like Simpang, Kangkar (Sengkang) and Punggol new towns way back then.

  Service 860 was the 1st service to be introduced in 1998 in conjuction to the development of Sengkang new town. As time passes more trunk services like 864, 865 (extension of 860) and 866 (extension of 59) were introduced.

  It was in mid 1999 that because of the merger, Tibs lost the tender to SBS in operating the NEL. As such Sengkang, Punggol and Jln Kayu came under SBS, in return Tibs took over CCK and Bt Batok services in 1999/2000.

  The most interesting part is on services 59/866, 82, 103, 163, 214E/820, 214W/821. SBS gave up these services to Tibs in Dec 1995, and 4 years later these services went back under SBS again...

  If let's say Jln Kayu under TIBS, 103 may get cutback to Sengkang, since its under TIBS area. Making it Sengkang - New Bridge Rd.
  
  If 820 and 821 still under TIBS, most likely Lance or even Mercs O405/OC500LE will still serve the two services.
